Why do we need to heat treat some springs?
In the manufacturing process of mechanical springs, high tensile residual stresses are generated which reduces considerably the spring strength and service life. These unfavourable residual stresses are partially eliminated by the heat treatment. In the process, the spring is heated below the material transformation temperature. Tekno-Detaljer offers a very compact and energy efficient solution based on resistive heat treatment.
